Arthur was a battle leader,and not a King....Glidias (sp) one of the 24 or more sons of King, or Kinglet KAw(CAw) of scotland supposidly had a brother who was hanged by Arthur for piracy...which would be a reasion why he was not mentioned by Glidias.
Many of the sons of Kaw were St.s ...look kid, ain't got enough land to split up so go join the church...
This goes for so many more St.s that were Kings or son's of Kings....none were St.s that were poor man's sons.....out side of Patric who was only the son of a merchant.
A couple of the other kings aslso had @30 or more sons too. They too, ended up Saints.

Celtic law was all the land was to be split amoung the sons...so that is why there were no great Celtic kingdoms that lasted. Sort of like the French with 1,000 Princes. Where as England only had a few.

A northern King with a similar name. Votiger, his son, Arrillius or his Brother Pendragosn's bastard, all have scholars claiming him to be one of them with some scrap of facts....
The more I read the more I get confused.
I speak no Welch, so thought it so new that by chopping off the first and last sylible of Vortigers name in welch, you could get some one called Arhur or Arty...
Arthur, the Bear...and so on...
Its like going to the beach and standing on the sand,and finding out it's quick sand, and all the twigs someone offers you are too short and made of dry straw that breask off in your hand...
That is why it is called the Dark ages....the candle of knoledge is a glimmer through a key hole of a locked door down the dark corridor, and a wind is blowing dust and grit from the floor into your eyes at the same time.
There is a chasm of unknown depth before your feet, but you know that there is some one in the room; for some one or some thing is moving betweeen the candle and the key hole, causing a flicker of light. His name might well be Arthur. His name might well be any of three or four others too.
